Support Worker – Mental Health Care

Kinmylies Lodge, Inverness
Salary: £12.60 – £12.82 per hour + Competitive benefits + overtime rates

Welcome to Kinmylies Lodge

Kinmylies Lodge is an 18-bedded specialist mental health home in the peaceful suburbs of Inverness, surrounded by stunning views of the mountains and canal. We support adults recovering from mental health illnesses, providing a safe, therapeutic, and homely environment where residents can rebuild confidence, develop life skills, and take positive steps towards greater independence.

As part of Meallmore, Scotland’s most trusted care provider, we’re proud of our strong community focus – offering both a warm home environment and opportunities for residents to connect, learn, and thrive.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in the recovery journey of our residents. This is not just about delivering care – it’s about empowering people to live fulfilling lives, grow in independence, and achieve their personal goals.

On a typical day you might:

  • Support residents with personal care in a way that respects dignity.
  • Encourage independent living skills, such as cooking, shopping, and budgeting.
  • Join in with activities that promote social interaction and confidence.
  • Accompany residents to appointments, community events, or day trips.
  • Offer emotional support, reassurance, and practical help during daily challenges.
  • Support residents preparing for more independent living in our self-contained flats.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who want to make a difference in mental health care. You don’t need to have prior experience in this area – what matters most is your attitude and values.

  • A genuine passion for supporting people on their mental health recovery journey.
  • Patience, empathy, and kindness.
  • A sense of humour and a positive outlook.
  • Reliability and trustworthiness.
  • SVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Health and Social Care) – desirable but not essential, as training is provided.

Why Work With Us?

At Kinmylies Lodge, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team in a specialist mental health service where your work really matters. Every day, you’ll see the impact of your support – from helping residents gain independence to watching them achieve life goals.

This is a rewarding role in a beautiful setting, where staff are valued just as much as residents.

Please note: All job offers are subject to satisfactory references and Disclosure Scotland Scheme Membership (PVG).
