Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic sushi dishes in a vibrant restaurant environment, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station, adhering to food safety regulations
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated regularly
  • Assist in the creation of new sushi recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
  • Monitor portion sizes and presentation to ensure consistency across all dishes
  • Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during food preparation and handling
  • Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy service periods

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, particularly with sushi or Japanese cuisine
  • Strong cooking skills with knowledge of culinary techniques relevant to sushi making
  • Previous kitchen experience within a restaurant setting is highly desirable
