KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant is expected to be established in a career in General Surgery, MRCS is essential and competency in basic general surgical procedures should be demonstrated. The successful applicant should be able to perform at the level expected of a specialty registrar in early training. The appointee is expected to attend and contribute to trust clinical audit and mortality and morbidity meetings. The appointees are expected to fully comply with the LTHT Clinical Governance Agendas in relation to prevention of healthcare acquired infections, prevention of thromboembolic disease, prevention of critical incidents etc.

The clinical audit program of one half day each month takes place on a rolling basis DUTIES OF THE POST This post is for a Clinical Research Fellow (Trust Doctor) in Pancreatic Surgery. Elective commitments (4 - 6 hours per week) will be at the level of ST3-5, with on-call (full shift) work on the ST3-5 Rota. Elective commitments may involve attendance at major and minor surgery, OP clinics, ward rounds, teaching and a contribution to the Trusts Clinical Governance Programme. LEVELS OF RESPONSIBILITY Elective duties will be at the level of a ST3-5 and on call duties will be at the level of a SpR.

These are not Deanery (Local Education and Training) approved training posts. Clinical improvement work will take place during standard days and will be supervised by Mr Samir Pathak.
