Teaching Assistant

Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Southend and surrounding
Type: Casual, Supply (Ad-hoc) - FT and PT availability as well as temp to perm.
Salary: £85-90 through PAYE - Weekly pay

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and contributing to their success in education?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Supply Teaching Assistant to join our team! You will be working in schools across Southend on a flexible, supply basis. As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting class teachers in delivering high-quality education, providing tailored support to students, and ensuring that every child is engaged and thriving in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in the delivery of lessons and educational activities.
  • Support students on an individual or small group basis, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Help with classroom management and ensure students are following rules and routines.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and any issues that arise.
  • Adapt to various teaching environments and ensure a smooth transition when working in different schools.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage the development of students’ social and emotional well-being.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of students at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school setting (this could include volunteering or as a teaching assistant or relevant transferable skills).
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm for supporting children, and a passion for education.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different teaching styles and classroom environments.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one - also must be on the update service).
