We are hiring: Plastering Tutor (Assessor pathway supported)

Unit 14c, Hepworth Park, Pontyclun (CF72 9FQ)

Construction Skills Wales Ltd

Full-time, permanent

Due to new contracts and continued growth, Construction Skills Wales is expanding again.

We are looking for a strong, experienced plasterer who wants to develop into a qualified assessor and IQA and become part of a professional training organisation that takes standards seriously.

This is a practical delivery role, not classroom-only and not box-ticking.

You will be delivering real skills to adult learners, supported by an experienced team, with a clear pathway into CAVA (A1) and IQA qualifications once in post.

This role is for someone who:

Is a time-served plasterer

Has experience working with learners, improvers, or apprentices (formal teaching not essential)

Communicates well and behaves professionally

Cares about standards and takes pride in their work

Is organised and willing to learn assessment and quality processes

Wants to gain assessor and IQA qualifications and grow their career

What you will be doing:

Delivering practical plastering and drylining training

Supporting adult learners on funded and accredited programmes

Helping learners build evidence towards qualifications

Working alongside assessors and IQAs to understand quality requirements

Developing your own assessor and IQA competence over time

Contributing to a growing, professional delivery team

Essential:

Strong trade background in plastering

Reliability and professionalism

Willingness to complete CAVA (A1) and IQA after joining

Desirable but not essential:

Existing A1/CAVA or assessor qualification

Existing IQA qualification

Experience in training, FE, or funded delivery

Multi-trade experience

We will support the right person to gain:

CAVA (A1) Assessor qualification

IQA qualification

Ongoing CPD and progression

Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 (dependent on experience and existing qualifications)

Location: In person, Pontyclun

Must be within reasonable commuting distance.
