SATURDAY MORNINGS 9.45pm - 1pm 36 weeks per year.

Job Summary

  • Deliver warm ups, cool downs and teaching sessions to students of different ages and levels of ability (between 7-18 years).
  • To have a wide range of knowledge in Musical Theatre, contemporary music, drama and current trends This may not be to your taste but it will be to the taste of the majority of children and young people you teach so it is up to you to keep ‘hot topics’ in your repertoire and adapt these songs so young people can sing them.
  • Understand how young voices work and have a knowledge of healthy vocal technique and how this applies to children and young people (or be willing to be trained in this area)
  • Ability to play the piano/keyboard confidently and to provide appropriate materials where necessary, such as sheet music, lyrics and suitable backing tracks. You are responsible for providing this for every student. If using backing tracks you must ensure you have ‘back up copies’ and equipment to do this. A piano or keyboard is standard at all premises.
  • To plan your lessons well in advance.
  • You MUST be able to ‘stage’ pieces as well as teach singing, KEEP the children/young people on their feet as much as possible.
  • Where necessary be able to offer individual coaching and advice to students in the area of singing.
  • To prepare songs in popular music and musical theatre pieces for various productions and shows.
  • To prepare students for LAMDA examinations.
  • To write student reports and inform parents/guardians on how their child is improving and what they need to focus on to maintain progress.

We offer high quality training to 7 -18 year olds, we are a multi award winning stage school and have been established for 19 years.

We are searching for the best, inspirational, diverse SINGING tutors. Must have skills in teaching to a non singer right up to the most confident singers!. For example, would you feel as comfortable teaching, arranging a Mary Poppins number as well as adding harmonies to an Ariana Grande song?

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Potentially all-day Saturdays but most definitely Saturday mornings.

We pride ourselves on children's progression so if you are auditioning for tours and such like abroad or down South, please don't waste your time or ours, although we understand your ambition we will not consider anyone who is wishing to move around a lot.

You must be able to inspire large groups of children aged 7-18 years, you must be able to teach singing and STAGE pieces and support.

We in turn will offer free training in Safeguarding, First Aid and mentoring (where you will get one to one support every two weeks should you need it)
