Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide exceptional support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life tailored to suit each of our client’s needs.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
  • Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Support clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia through engaging activities that stimulate cognitive function.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of client care daily and report any concerns to the supervising manager.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals, family members and care teams to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of senior care practices, hospice care, and first aid is essential.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate nature are crucial for building rapport with clients.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients when required.
