Ignis Group are a Commercial Heating Specialist based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. We specialise in the Service, Maintenance and Installation of Commercial Heating and Hot water systems for our expanding client base throughout the Midlands and surrounding counties.

We are currently looking to fill the role of a Mechanical Project Manager with a strong bias towards Commercial heating and hot water systems to oversee our expanding installations team at our Worcestershire head office. This post is a permanent contract and offers an opportunity for a candidate who is looking to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company to further their career.

This is an integral role in the business in which you will be a key member of the contracts department involved with estimating and project management of Mechanical works from £5K - £1m. The role will be office based however, the need to carry out site surveys, contract meetings and dealing with onsite technical issues will be required.

Working alongside our in house teams, engineers and subcontractors you will be responsible for Mechanical works from pricing/tender stage through to commissioning and handover. You will be the lead and point of contact for our field-based engineers and specialist sub-contractors allocated to each project whilst ensuring our clients’ needs are met and maximising efficiency and productivity.

Job Summary

To take the lead role of estimating and managing the installations for commercial heating and hot water systems in and around the Midlands area and surrounding counties.

Core Responsibilities of the Role

  • Overseeing the installation of mechanical plant and other equipment in a range of commercial buildings.
  • Manage the day-to-day works and control of the projects
  • Liaising with clients for scheduling works and overseeing the installation and commissioning engineers.
  • Contribute to project planning meetings
  • Ability to work alongside the installation and service department
  • Conduct yourself professionally with clients, suppliers, and other relevant parties
  • Carrying out and overseeing the handover of each installation to the client.

Estimating

  • Tendering new mechanical projects received and designed by our network of consultants
  • Site surveys of Mechanical upgrade works required across our large service customer base ranging from Schools, Universities, medical centres, industrial, and office buildings.
  • Assisting our service department where required with larger remedial works following routine service visits and emergency call outs.

Essential Criteria

  • Possess the relevant qualifications or time served experience for the job role
  • Ability to work effectively within and as part of a team
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work through technical challenges effectively
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High levels of organisation, planning and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure on own initiative and achieve personal and team targets
  • Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems with a strong Bias towards commercial heating and hot water systems, relevant rules, regulations, legalities, and quality standards
