Band 7 Psychological Therapist

We're looking to recruit a band 7 psychological therapist on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

The post is based at the adult community mental health team in Ipswich. We are a supportive and dedicated multi-disciplinary team across East Suffolk, with competencies and accreditations in a range of evidence based psychological therapies.

The ideal applicant(s) will be passionate about delivering evidence-based therapies and working psychologically with people experiencing mental health difficulties living in the community.


Main duties of the job

If you are passionate about delivering evidence based psychological therapies and are experienced in working psychologically with adults with complex presentations associated with community mental health, then this role will be perfect for you.

We are seeking someone who would be able to carry out psychological assessment, formulation and therapy alongside psychological consultation, and teaching/training to the multi-disciplinary team. Duties would also include attendance and contribution to MDT meetings.

Additional training in EMDR and / or DBT would be highly desirable.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession
  • BABCP accreditation as a CBT Therapist
  • Advanced knowledge of a range of CBT/Therapies evidence-based interventions used in the effective management of common mental health problems

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Theoretical knowledge of CBT and the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client need
  • Highly specialist assessment and formulation skills in CBT
  • Skilled in risk assessment, safeguarding and working with complex presentations
Desirable criteria
  • Substantial experience in managerial/clinical supervision of others casework.
