Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guides to join our team for visiting cruise ships to the following Ports: Derry, Greencastle (Co. Donegal) Killybegs, Galway, Foynes, Dingle and Bantry. The ideal candidates will have a passion for sharing local history, culture, and attractions with visitors. As a Tour Guide, you will lead groups on engaging tours, ensuring an informative and enjoyable experience for all participants. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly disposition, and the ability to adapt to various group dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct guided tours of local attractions, ensuring accurate and engaging information is shared with guests.
  • Prepare and deliver informative commentary on the history, culture, and significance of sites visited.
  • Manage group dynamics effectively, ensuring all guests feel included and engaged throughout the tour.
  • Answer questions from guests in a knowledgeable and approachable manner.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants during excursions.
  • Manage the itinerary ensuring good time management and that all aspects of the itinerary are delivered in full.
  • Liaise with Port Manager if and when issues arise.
  • Liaise with venues to advise of group size and arrival time.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Tour Guide or in a customer-facing role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • A passion for history, culture, or the specific subject matter of the tours offered.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • A friendly and approachable personality that fosters positive interactions with guests.
  • Knowledge of local landmarks and attractions essential.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: £135.00-£230.00 per day
