About the Role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Road Marking Operative to join a specialist highways contractor working across Devon and the South West. This role involves installing road markings, thermoplastic lines, symbols, and safety signage on highways, car parks, industrial estates, and commercial sites.

You’ll be part of a skilled team delivering high-quality line marking to strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Applying thermoplastic and paint-based road markings
  • Operating road marking equipment and hand tools safely
  • Reading site drawings and marking out designated lines
  • Preparing surfaces for marking (burning off, cleaning, masking, etc.)
  • Ensuring work meets required specifications and client expectations
  • Working to Chapter 8 and industry safety guidelines
  • Assisting with traffic management when required

Requirements

  • Experience as a Road Marking Operative / Line Marking Operative
  • Knowledge of thermoplastic application and road marking processes
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work days, nights, and occasional weekends
  • High awareness of safety and attention to detail
  • Chapter 8 training or NVQ Level 2 in Road Marking (preferred but not required)
