Paralegal Apprenticeship

  • Please note this is a level 3 Apprenticeship
  • Due to the Apprenticeship criteria we are unable to accept applications from candidates that have a higher qualification in the area of law than this Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship.
  • Please note before application that an Apprenticeship is not suitable for candidates looking for part-time work, or work experience during a gap year.

Future Prospects

As a firm we are keep to develop all new starters. The candidate progress will be down to them. Getting the basics right is key.

Salary expectation is difficult to indicate. However, qualified CILEX can earn in excess of £30K per annum plus benefits.

  • West Midlands firm continues to be a market leader in all aspects of debt recovery, focusing on business to business, with special expertise in defended proceedings, litigation, insolvency including compulsory winding-up and bankruptcy proceedings and over-payment of salary claims. Its client base ranges from blue-chip companies to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Your role

This is a unique role for an existing client handling high volume cases.

  • The initial roles is pre-legal case management.
  • Over time, the role likely to evolve into other area of debt recovery, including legal action. The role will includes:
  • Updating case records
  • Reporting to client & advising of next steps
  • Financial postings

Working week

  • Monday – Friday
  • 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • 1 hour lunch
  • 35 hours per week.
  • Office based.

Desired skills

  • Due to the Apprenticeship criteria candidates with LLB would not be eligible for this position
  • Local viable commute essential
  • 4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's
  • Confident with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
  • Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
  • Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner

Training to be provided

  • You will complete the Paralegal Apprenticeship
  • This Apprenticeship will involve off the job training.
  • You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
  • The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 18 months.
  • This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
