About the Role

We are recruiting Specialist Mental Health Mentors in London to support students with diagnosed mental health conditions at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You’ll meet students one-to-one, in person, delivering practical strategies and reflective support that reduces barriers to learning, builds independence and improves wellbeing.

This is a flexible, term-time role with a competitive rate of £25.00 per hour, plus holiday pay, pension, sick pay and clinical supervision.

About You

• Accredited mental health practitioner (e.g., MBACP, UKCP, HCPC, RMN/NMC, Social Work England, OT, Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Psychologist)
• Honours degree (any subject)
• Minimum 1 year’s post-qualifying experience with young people or adults with mental health conditions
• Strong skills in risk awareness, reflective practice and practical strategy work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to disability equity and inclusive education
• Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
• Confidence working with diverse and multicultural communities

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-to-one mentoring for students with diagnosed mental health conditions
• Help students manage the impact of their condition on study and daily life
• Promote independence, resilience and wellbeing
• Support organisation, time-management and study strategies
• Monitor wellbeing, assess risk and escalate appropriately
• Maintain clear, GDPR-compliant records
• Liaise with HEIs, GPs and other professionals where needed
