Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Translator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting written and spoken content between multiple languages, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness. This role offers an opportunity to utilise excellent communication skills and linguistic expertise to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication across various projects. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about language and translation.

Duties

  • Translate documents, reports, and other written materials accurately from source language to target language, maintaining the original meaning and tone.
  • Interpret spoken language during meetings, conferences, or events to facilitate clear communication between parties.
  • Proofread and edit translated content to ensure grammatical correctness, consistency, and clarity.
  • Collaborate with clients or team members to understand context, terminology, and specific translation requirements.
  • Utilise specialised translation software and tools to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Maintain organised records of translated materials and project progress.
  • Assist with localisation tasks to adapt content for specific cultural contexts when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Multilingual proficiency with strong command of English and at least one other language; bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Proven experience in translation or interpretation roles, ideally across diverse sectors such as legal, medical, technical, or business fields.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and accurately.
  • Strong typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and cultural sensitivity are essential qualities for success in this role.
