Full job description

Redcliffe International (Shipping) Limited specialise in providing freight and logistics solutions for military forwarding, as well as general cargos from all types of industries and sectors. In addition to general forwarding, we tailor solutions by air, road, rail and sea for the movement and storage of military goods including weapons, ammunition, explosives and missiles.

Our customers range from Governments to large public quoted companies to smaller privately owned businesses from all over the world. We are highly experienced and motivated to deliver quality services which ensure our customers meet the demands of their customers at the right price, on time, every time.

We now have an opening for a Freight Forwarder at our Headquarters in Watnall, Nottingham. Ideally with experience in shipping, we are seeking someone with a "can do attitude" to join our Team.

Key Tasks:

  • Negotiate quotations for multi-modal shipments.
  • Manage client accounts including invoicing.
  • Arrange bookings with the carriers and hauliers for the movement of cargo.
  • Keep up to date with any changes regarding available routings & regulations.

Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Ideally, a good knowledge, understanding and experience of current import and export procedures.
  • A good understanding of IT & emerging technologies.
  • Experience & understanding of customs regulations would be desirable.
  • A background in dangerous goods movements desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of the inherent risks associated with the safe movement of dangerous & restricted goods desirable.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Appropriate industry qualifications - e.g. an apprenticeship in freight forwarding would be desirable.

An ideal candidate would:

  • Have the ability to understand and tackle a problem.
  • Be able to plan ahead and/or innovate to avoid such problems.
  • Have the ability to work alone, where necessary and within a team environment.
  • Be a good communicator & self-motivated.
