Sport Operations Assistant

Part time: 18 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 1pm- 7pm)

THE POST - Sport Operations Assistant - Ayr

The University of the West of Scotland Sport department has an exciting opportunity for a part-time role in the post of Sport Operations Assistant based at our Ayr Campus.

The postholder will support the operational delivery of sports facilities and service activities. You will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with the Sport Operations Manager and operational team. This role involves a pro-active approach to assisting in the development and delivery of sports services which will positively impact on the student and staff experience and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will operate formal procedures laid down by the University in relation to Sport Operations to ensure the effective management of UWS Sport administration, access control and facility operations. They will provide guidance in sport and fitness activities in an individual and group setting, providing a structured approach to service delivery which enhances operations with a view to maximising customer experience.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HNC or gym qualification recognised by CIMPSA.
  • A developed understanding of sport and fitness through education or working experiences.
  • Experience within a customer service environment.
  • Basic computer literacy/IT skills and/or ability to use a specialist software package relevant to the job
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous Experience of delivering practical fitness or sports sessions Ability to work as part of a team and own initiative

You will enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. With drive, enthusiasm and tenacity you will be accustomed to operating within a busy environment.
