Your role and responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Veterinary Nursing Assistant (Patient Care Assistant) for a fixed term 12 month maternity cover role within our friendly team to help in supporting our highly skilled Specialists, Residents, Interns, and Nurses.

The perfect candidate would be someone who has a passion for animal welfare and keen to develop their knowledge and experience within the veterinary industry.

You will work both independently and as part of a team to support the provision of inpatient care within our hospital from all disciplines. Key responsibilities will include dog walking, feeding and giving oral medications, cleaning and maintenance of our hospital, helping to restrain patients during procedures and providing ever so important TLC to the patients within our care.

Experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided, however, experience within a similar role would be advantageous. You will have the opportunity to build upon your existing skillset through a thorough and supported induction.

This is a full-time (average 35 hours per week), permanent position with shifts between 7:30 am - 8:30 pm. You will participate in a weekend and Bank Holiday rota.

You need to be a highly motivated self-starter with the:

  • Desire to provide gold standard care to all our patients
  • Ability and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Inclination to learn and develop your clinical skills.

You must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work
  • Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK
  • Previous experience within a similar role would be advantageous
