Neighbourhood Services Assistant

Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our busy Neighbourhood Services team for a 10 month fixed term contract. You will possess excellent organisational skills, be committed to providing excellent customer service and day to day support to our Neighbourhood teams (Housing Services and Housing Enforcement).

This is a very demanding and varied role that will require you to prioritise and manage your own workload as well as providing support to the neighbourhood teams. You will need to be confident when dealing with customers face-to-face and on the telephone.

Reporting to the Housing Services Team Leader your main duties will include dealing with telephone/email enquiries, managing the letting and administration of our garages, monitoring of various key Housing Services functions, raising of grounds maintenance orders, managing utility bills, access arrangements for annual gas and other services, liaising with the contact centre and other keys departments within the Council as well as providing a responsive service to customers.

You will have experience of providing a customer facing service role, a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, manual and computerised record systems and must be be able to maintain up to date and accurate records. Excellent organisational and communication skills along with the ability to take a flexible approach to the varying demands of the role are also key requirements.

The successful candidate will also benefit from hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

South Cambridgeshire District Council is a four-day week employer. We expect our colleagues to get 100% of their work done, in around 85% of their contracted hours, for 100% of their pay. All Council staff will be able to opt-in to this way of working under a Productivity Policy.
