Role: Hire Desk Controller
Salary: £31,000 Per annum
Hours: 8:30 – 5pm Monday – Friday
Location: Layland

We a excited to be recruiting for a Hire Desk Controller to join fast growing well established client in Layland.

As a Hire Desk Controller, they will play a crucial role in managing the hire and return of equipment, ensuring smooth coordination between contracts, suppliers, site managers, and maintaining a high standard of customer service. The role is vital in supporting the successful delivery of utility projects and ensuring that all equipment requirements are met efficiently.

The Role:

¨ Processing all hire requests throughout for both vehicles and plant through the inhouse system

¨ Contact suppliers for availability of equipment

¨ Raising purchase order numbers to cover the hire and processing the goods received notes

¨ Raise hire contracts into the plant management system, ensuring all data is applied correctly and costings are assigned to the correct cost center

¨ Organise delivery and collection of equipment to meet client project deadlines, while communicating effectively with site managers to ensure smooth operations

¨ Address any issues that arise such as equipment breakdown or delivery/collection delays and find effective solutions to keep projects on track

¨ Raise off hires with suppliers and process return notes, ensuring costs are costed on the correct weeks and accurately working towards weekly deadlines

¨ Compliance- ensuring all equipment is compliant by coordinating, servicing, maintenance schedules so all plant is fit for purpose and safety regulations are met

¨ Updating reminder records in syrinx with the next due date for calibrations and inspections

¨ Creating and maintaining job cards in syrinx for repairs and damages for owned and hired assets

¨ Creating order numbers to cover repairs, damages and lost items for suppliers and ensuring costs are recovered through the system

¨ Update fleet numbers in syrinx when kit is being exchanged and update managers

¨ Plants sheets - Daily updates on contract movements, gang changes or kit movements. These daily changes are to be amended in the system for correct cost code charges and to ensure accurate plant checks on vehicles

¨ Answering internal and external calls relating to plant

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

¨ Ideally have Hire Desk Controller experience but would consider candidates from a Customer Service, Administrator or

¨ Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.

¨ Strong computer skills

¨ Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, able to use own initiative
