Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sonographer to join our Private healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive environment, utilising advanced imaging technology to deliver high-quality patient care. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to professional development and excellence in medical imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic vascular ultrasound, abdominal, small parts, pelvic, OB/GYN. procedures on patients across various medical specialities, ensuring accuracy and clarity of images.
  • Provide excellent patient care and ensure comfort, obtain history, capture high-quality diagnostic images
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including images and technical notes in EMRWork.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety protocols HIPAA and infection and control protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and provide comprehensive patient reports.
  • Ensure the ultrasound environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with infection control standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in sonography technology and techniques through ongoing professional development.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program RDMS certification through ARDMS 1+ year experience preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Sonographer or in a similar diagnostic imaging role.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare colleagues.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for clear documentation and patient interaction.
  • Strong IT skills to operate ultrasound systems and manage digital records efficiently.
  • Ability to teach or explain procedures clearly to patients, demonstrating patience and empathy.
  • Relevant qualifications in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent certification recognised within the healthcare sector.
  • A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to clinical protocols.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the healthcare facility’s schedule.
