SEMH TA – Haywards Heath

Pay: £92 per day

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:55pm

Requirement: Driver essential due to school location

We are currently recruiting a calm, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in the Haywards Heath area. This full-time, ongoing role involves supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and engaged in their learning. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff, providing consistent, individualised support and adapting your approach to meet each student’s emotional, behavioural and learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills

  • Confidence supporting pupils within the classroom

  • A proactive, resilient and compassionate attitude

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
