Do you believe that every child deserves a champion, someone in their corner, cheering them on, guiding them, and helping them overcome barriers? If you're passionate about young people and want to make a genuine impact, this could be the perfect role for you.
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you’ll play a vital role in helping students succeed both academically and personally. Working closely with class teachers and senior staff, you’ll support pupils across a wide age range, helping them access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a real difference.
What You Can Expect from Us
If you're someone who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people, and you're looking for the right place to grow your career, we’d love to welcome you to Oasis Academy Wintringham.
Here, you’ll be part of a positive, supportive, and inclusive school culture, where staff work together with passion and purpose to help every student thrive. You’ll join a team that’s committed to doing what’s right for our community and each other.
We offer clear pathways for professional development and growth, with access to high-quality training and opportunities across the wider Oasis trust. Whether you're looking to build on your expertise or step into leadership, there’s no limit to how far you can go.
Every day brings the chance to make a tangible impact, and every colleague plays a vital role in shaping our students’ futures. It’s not always easy, but with the right ethos and team behind you, it’s incredibly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support
- Deliver tailored in-class and intervention support under teacher guidance.
- Provide feedback to help students track progress and grow in confidence.
- Promote student well-being both in and beyond the classroom.
Learning Environment
- Maintain a purposeful, engaging learning space.
- Set up and manage equipment and materials safely and effectively.
- Support with creative classroom and academy displays.
Teaching & Curriculum Support
- Assist in preparing lesson resources and organising activities.
- Help track student progress, manage records, and support test administration.
- Contribute to data gathering and reporting.
Pastoral & Behavioural Support
- Foster a respectful, inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Encourage positive behaviour and consistent routines.
- Support students during enrichment, breaks, and as a form tutor.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
- Communicate with families and external partners when needed.
- Participate in meetings, training, and development activities.
What We’re Looking For
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Relevant experience in a classroom or learning support role.
- Confidence supporting students with SEN, EAL, or complex needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organised, adaptable, and committed to helping every student thrive.
- Willingness to uphold the values and ethos of Oasis Academy Wintringham.
Joining Oasis Academy Wintringham means becoming part of a values-led, ambitious school at the heart of Grimsby driven by the mission to close the education gap, raise aspirations, and empower every student. You’ll be part of a vibrant and supportive team, where professional development is prioritised, collaboration is central, and your impact extends far beyond the classroom.
Our academy offers whole-school enrichment, modern Alternative Provision facilities, and a strong culture of inclusion and high expectations, underpinned by the wider support of the Oasis Community Learning Trust, which champions equality and excellence for all.
Rated Good across all areas in March 2023, Ofsted praised our aspirational curriculum, strong relationships between staff and students, exceptional pastoral care, and the wide range of opportunities we offer. Having made significant progress, we’re now firmly focused on becoming an Outstanding school and we’re looking for passionate individuals to help us get there.
If you’re ready to be more than just support, if you’re ready to be a partner in learning and a role model for our students then we’d love to hear from you.
