Background
The School of Policy and Global Affairs is an excellent international centre of research and learning on the human condition. It is home to over 2,500 students and 100 staff across three departments: Economics, Sociology and Criminology, and International Politics.
The Department of Economics is a research and education hub, specializing in microeconomics, health, behavioural and public economics. Over 90% of our research output and over 80% of our impact are rated as internationally excellent. We offer research-led education to 1,500 students at undergraduate and post-graduate level, focusing on employability, transferable skills, and social mobility.
Responsibilities
The Department is seeking to appoint up to six Lecturers:
- One in the field of health economics to join the City Health Economics Centre (CHEC);
- One in the field of theoretical or empirical industrial organisation to join the Centre for Competition and Regulatory Policy (CCRP); and
- Up to four open field appointments to join the relevant research groups at the Department of Economics.
Candidates should have a demonstrable ability to produce world-leading research, attract external funding, engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, deliver outstanding education, and contribute to administrative duties at various levels.
Person Specification
Candidates should have a PhD in Economics or related fields at the time of appointment and have substantive plans for future research and grant applications.
