Full job description

Overview
We are a growing food processing business looking to recruit a Production Operative to work 4 days a week in our packing room, with delivery driving on Fridays.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a food production environment.

Key Responsibilities – Production (Mon–Thurs)

  • Carry out label checks, box checks, pallet counts, and any required verification checks
  • Accurately complete all associated production and traceability records
  • Debox cheese and load onto the production line as instructed
  • Ensure full traceability is maintained and batches are not mixed without authorisation
  • Follow all hygiene, PPE, and high-care entry procedures, including hand washing and changing protocols
  • Immediately report any suspect packaging, incorrect labels, damage, foreign bodies, or other non-conformances
  • Stop the production line if required until issues are checked and cleared

Key Responsibilities – Delivery (Friday)

  • Deliver customer orders safely and on time
  • Load and unload deliveries responsibly
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic checks of the delivery vehicle
  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers

Training & Development (Fully Funded)

We will fully fund training and certification, including:

  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene (Manufacturing)
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

All training will be provided during employment.

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (clean)
  • Previous food production or warehouse experience desirable (but not essential)
  • Previous experience as a commercial delivery driver desirable (but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Comfortable with manual handling
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team
  • Physically fit, capable of performing manual handling tasks and standing for extended periods
