Full job description

Main Duties of post

To represent the Company in a professional manner at all times

To deliver a positive first impression, remember you may be the only person that the service users sees all day.

To assist in developing a caring, supportive, and spiritual atmosphere for adults requiring palliative care.

Safeguarding vulnerable people from abuse.

To maintain a high standard of Service User care ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.

To give individualised/Person-Centred Service User care in line with their care plans/support plans

To develop skills in caring for terminally ill Service Users and their families.

To work as a member of the team.

Cover a 24 hour rota when the need arises.

Participate in implementing care delegated by seniors for which training has been given and competence achieved.

Be involved in a multidisciplinary approach to Service User care together with other healthcare professionals and the clergy when required.

To work under the supervision of senior staff reporting changes in Service User’s conditions and needs as they occur.

Attend and participate in meetings related to service users, families and staff.

Job Details

This role offers great flexibility - various starting and finishing hours, with day, evening and weekend shifts available.

Maintain a safe, clean and secure environment for Service Users, their families, visitors and staff.

Communicate information on Service User care and related matters to the seniors as soon as possible

Ensure correct use and due economy is made of equipment and resources. Participate in social activities to give support to Service Users and families.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as a team

Valid drivers license for transportation purposes

General Responsibilities

To undertake all mandatory training as required and participate in appropriate in-service training as and when required.

Maintaining strict confidentiality of all information acquired especially with regard to Service Users/service users/family and staff.

To undertake an appraisal and personal development review annually and through self-development, continuously update and improve knowledge and competencies.

To be a co-operative and supportive member of the team, ensuring that all members are aware of any issues in the post holder’s workload, which may affect other members team.

To develop effective working relationships and providing regular feedback on performance.

To take responsibility for being up to date with current policies and procedures and to adhere to these.

Cooperating fully in the introduction of any new technology and new methods as appropriate.

Working and maintaining professional boundaries

Any other duties that may be reasonably requested.
