Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated general plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing & heating systems across various settings, including domestic & commercial premises. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, practical skills with hand and power tools, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in diverse environments. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in plumbing.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair plumbing & heating systems, and associated equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial premises. This will be primarily working for our FM division within commercial & industrial premises, but also working with our domestic team on mechanical, plumbing & renewable installations as and when needed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance and safety compliance.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing fittings to assemble and modify plumbing components.
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks related to system installation or refurbishment projects.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues using specialised knowledge of plumbing & heating systems and associated components.
  • Carry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely as part of installation or maintenance activities.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system condition reports.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all operations to minimise risks on-site.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a plumber or in a similar role within the plumbing or mechanical trades.
  • Demonstrable skills with welding, hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Experience with carpentry work related to heating system installation is desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various environments.
  • Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with working on commercial or industrial heating systems is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided where necessary. This position offers a rewarding career path for motivated individuals eager to expand their technical expertise within a supportive team environment.
