Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!
At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! We’re looking for a Children and Families Healthy Lifestyle Coach to join our One You Lincolnshire service. One You Lincolnshire offers support in Weight Management, Smoking Cessation, Alcohol Reduction, Physical Activity, Health Coaching and Strength and Balance.
The main aspect of this role, however, involves working on the Gloji Energy programme that is responsible for supporting children and their families to lead healthy lifestyles. The programme provides eligible Lincolnshire families a fun and engaging programme, that encourages them to eat healthier, increase their physical activity levels, as well as improving their sleep and wellbeing. The holistic programme combines both one to one appointments and weekly group sessions for children aged 4 to 12 years, and their families.
Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Children and Families Healthy Lifestyle Coach might include:
-
Deliver a planned child weight management and healthy lifestyle programme to eligible Lincolnshire families, focusing on behaviour change, to help families make changes to nutrition, movement, mind and sleep.
-
Motivate, inspire and support children and parents/carers to lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle, through a professional, knowledgeable and empathetic approach.
-
Be able to relate and communicate to both children and their parents/carers, handling sensitive conversations about weight in a professional manner.
-
Deliver, or support the delivery, of fun and engaging physical activity with children.
-
Provide one to one support to children and families where this is identified as appropriate.
-
Complete Extended Brief Intervention phone calls with the parents of eligible children, offering support and information about our Gloji Energy programmes.
-
Accurately record and monitor data in a timely manner using basic IT skills.
-
Promote Gloji Energy alongside the Partnerships and Engagement Officer by working with the National Child Measurement Programme, local Schools, primary care and secondary care.
-
Support Thrive Tribe and service colleagues to implement local health campaigns and programmes as required.
-
Ensure due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements, and guidance.
About you...
More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart in to their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too!
Be the change
You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive.
Be effective
You’re patient and can adapt under pressure. You provide an excellent experience to the families, by combining health improvement knowledge with first class communication.
Be happy
You recognise the power of a smile. Flair and personality are key to motivate people to achieve their health-related aspirations. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor).
Be successful
You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets. And will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career.
Be big-hearted
You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, we want the same thing to do meaningful work and change lives.
To work with us in this role you will need to have some experience of supporting individuals, ideally children or young people, to make healthy lifestyle choices through nutrition, physical activity or health coaching. Physical Activity, Nutrition or Behaviour Change qualifications would be desirable.
However, we hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job, we would love to hear from you!
Perks...
Every person makes Thrive Tribe the incredible place it is to work and play together, we’re unstoppable. Within our buzzing environment our talented people work hard but we ensure lots of fun is thrown in too! We offer you;
-
Flexible working
-
