Security Officer - Cairnryan

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, rotating days and nights

• 06:30 – 18:30
• 18:30 – 06:30

We are recruiting Security Officers to join a busy port operation at Cairnryan. This role is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of passengers, staff, vessels, and port facilities while delivering a professional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct passenger screening and security searches.
• Operate X-ray screening equipment and carry out baggage inspections.
• Perform vehicle security checks prior to boarding.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas.
• Conduct regular patrols throughout the port.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to security incidents.
• Complete reports, logs, and security documentation.
• Provide professional assistance and guidance to passengers.

Essential Requirements

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Previous security experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to commute to Cairnryan for the required shift pattern.

Desirable Experience

• Maritime, aviation, transport, or port security experience.
• Knowledge of ISPS security procedures.
• Military or policing background.
