Full job description

CNC Programming & Operation

  • Write and modify CNC programs to meet design and quality specifications.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Produce and update setting sheets.
  • Identify appropriate tooling, gauges, and fixtures required for production.
  • Perform program edits and advanced programming cycles at the machine control.

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Run and prove first-off components, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Check first-off components before production and assist operators with machining issues.
  • Use our standard measuring equipment to inspect components and ensure they meet specifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues with non-conforming parts.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve procedures and reduce cycle times.

Workshop & Safety Standards

  • Work safely in line with company health & safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including machines and surrounding areas.
  • Report and request reordering of consumable items when needed.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished components as required.
  • Ensure materials are available for production setups.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with goods-in inspection from external processing.
  • Carry out part marking, packing, and assembly work as needed.
  • Pick raw materials from the warehouse when necessary.
  • Work towards objectives set in your Personal Development Plan.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the business.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a metalworking or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to use standard measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow production schedules.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills & Training:

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Previous experience working with Doosan machines.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
