Qualified Teacher Tutors – Maths, English & Science in Croydon, Bromley and Sutton | Online & In-Person | £35–£50 per hour, dependent on experience.

About OI Tutors

OI Tutors is a boutique, premium tutoring and education service providing high-quality, personalised tuition to students and families.

Our approach is simple:

Personal. Purposeful. Properly taught.

We believe exceptional tuition should be personalised, purposeful and focused on meaningful progress, with experienced teachers who understand each learner’s needs, identify gaps and build confidence. We place a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, professionalism, reliability and accountability.

As OI Tutors continues to grow, we are looking for experienced, qualified teachers to join our team.

Subjects

We are currently recruiting qualified teachers specialising in:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language and English Literature
  • Science, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Applicants are not expected to teach across all subject areas. We are looking for experienced specialists within their own subject area.

We welcome applications from teachers with experience teaching Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level.

SEND and Neurodiversity

We particularly welcome teachers with experience supporting students with SEND and/or neurodivergence, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia and dyscalculia.

The Role

  • As an OI Tutors teacher, you will provide high-quality, personalised tuition tailored to the needs of each individual student.
  • You will plan and deliver purposeful and engaging lessons, assess students' current understanding, identify gaps and misconceptions, and adapt your teaching accordingly.
  • You will support students in developing their knowledge, understanding, confidence and independence, monitor their progress and provide clear and constructive feedback.
  • You will also communicate professionally with parents or guardians where appropriate and maintain excellent standards of preparation, punctuality, reliability and professional conduct.

What We Are Looking For

  • Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification and have strong teaching experience within their subject specialism.
  • You should have strong subject and curriculum knowledge, experience within the UK education system and experience working with children or young people.
  • Excellent communication is essential. Teachers must be able to speak clearly and articulately, explain concepts in a way that students can readily understand and adapt their explanations when necessary.
  • We are looking for teachers who are professional, dependable and highly reliable, and who understand how to adapt their teaching to the individual learner rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • Applicants must have a strong understanding of safeguarding, the right to work in the UK, a current Enhanced DBS certificate and be able to provide satisfactory professional references.

Tuition

OI Tutors offers both in-person and online tuition.

In-person tuition is primarily provided to families across Croydon, Bromley and Sutton.

Application Process

  • Complete the OI Tutors Teacher Application Form and upload your current CV.
  • Applications will be reviewed against the professional and educational standards expected at OI Tutors.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview.

Join the OI Tutors Team

We are building a carefully selected team of experienced teachers who share our commitment to providing students and families with an exceptional standard of tuition.

If you believe teaching should be personal, purposeful and properly taught and have the expertise we seek, we would love to hear from you.
