Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Practice Accountant specialising in Accounts and Tax to join our dynamic financial team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients, providing expert accounting and tax services while supporting the overall financial management of our practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, a passion for financial services, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client support. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist with tax preparation, including calculating liabilities, preparing returns, and ensuring timely submissions.
- VAT preparation and submissions
- Support clients with financial management tasks, offering insights to improve their financial health.
- Mentor junior team members by sharing best practices and providing guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts and ensure all financial data is up-to-date and precise.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an accountant within a professional practice or financial services environment.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, TaxCalc or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
- Experience handling and preparing financial statements.
- Ability to mentor colleagues and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a transparent approach to tax preparation and compliance requirements.
This role is 20 hours per week, with a clear route to increasing to full-time as the practice grows. Flexible working hours will be agreed on your start date.
