Full job description

Have you taught and worked with young people involved in the criminal justice system and love to use sport to engage with them ?

Do you have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • An understanding of what issues affect children and young people at risk of offending and out of school.
  • Resilience
  • An ability to engage one young person in core subjects whilst awaiting for a school place.
  • Maturity and wisdom
  • Adaptability

...........And most importantly

  • Empathy and safeguarding

Are you able to get through to young people who need a great role model and someone who will listen to them ?

If so we’d like to hear from you.

The Educatch Charity is a support service with a difference. We deliver intensive support, education and offer a vocational curriculum for young people who need something bespoke and who have probably struggled in other settings.

We are looking for someone who has lived life and knows about the obstacles and challenges young people face .

We need someone who is highly practical, who has patience and time to provide a bespoke education - literacy and numeracy to support a young person using activities you can find common ground in- e.g., music tech, cooking and exercise.

We need someone who will provide a range of educational and pastoral interventions, who will advise, listen and mentor one young person and eventually help him access school and move away from the criminal justice system.

First and foremost, we need a professional who cares about vulnerable, sometimes very complex, sometimes highly challenging young people and who will do their best to ensure they reach their fullest potential. You will be reliable, punctual and self-motivated but most of all care about children and young people who require a bespoke child centred service.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £25.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexitime

  • Youth Offending Service: 1 year (required)
