Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Streatham)
Location: Deptford, South London
Start Date: January 2026
Pay: £85–£100 per day (term-time only)
Contract: Full-time, long-term placement
New Formation Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Deptford to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate who is eager to gain first-hand classroom experience and make a genuine impact on pupils’ learning and development. It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering a future in teaching or educational psychology.
The Role
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative staff team and working closely with class teachers to:
- Support learning across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
- Deliver targeted small-group or 1:1 support, including literacy and numeracy interventions
- Assist with classroom preparation and maintain a positive, stimulating learning environment
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement in lessons
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to ensure all pupils are well supported
About You
We are looking for a graduate who:
- Has a genuine interest in primary education and child development
- Brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a proactive attitude to learning support
- Is confident communicating with children and staff
- Ideally has experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, or youth work)
