Residential Support Worker – Children’s Ofsted Regulated Home
Location: Tottenham, N17
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000 – £29,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Day shifts, 10:30am – 10:30pm
Are you compassionate, motivated and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting Day Shift Residential Support Workers to join our Ofsted-regulated children’s home in Tottenham. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a purposeful, meaningful and long-term career in residential childcare while working in a supportive, child-centred and values-led environment.
You will be part of a dedicated team supporting young people aged 10–17 with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them feel safe, valued and able to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent emotional and practical support to young people during daytime shifts
- Encourage structured routines including meals, education, activities and community engagement
- Promote independence and support positive decision-making
- Act as a keyworker, helping young people set, review and achieve personal goals
- Apply trauma-informed and child-centred approaches to build trust and resilience
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and supportive home environment
- Complete accurate, professional records, observations and daily reports
- Participate in handovers, staff meetings and reflective practice sessions
- Engage in ongoing professional development and learning
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people in residential care, social care, youth work or education (preferred)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards achieving it
- Empathy, patience and emotional resilience
- Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and child development
- Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
