Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of a new bar and restaurant establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, ensure food safety standards, and create a welcoming environment for guests. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining high standards of food and beverage quality, and ensuring smooth operational flow.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of bar staff, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen personnel
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper food safety and hygiene practices are followed
  • Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to maintain efficient service
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies
  • Assist in the development of menus, including beverage selection and food pairing options
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction
  • Conduct regular training sessions on food safety, service standards, and product knowledge
  • Monitor financial transactions, including cash handling and billing procedures

Skills

  • Proven experience in supervising teams within a restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent team management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices
  • Experience in serving beverages professionally as a barista or bartender is desirable
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and food production processes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and guests
  • Previous experience in hotel or restaurant management is advantageous
