About Dawn
Dawn is a live intelligence platform. It surfaces the early signals and patterns around safeguarding and gender-based violence, so the people who protect others can see what’s coming and act on it, sooner. It forecasts where harm is building, never who. No risk scores. Intelligence that helps humans decide, earlier.
Coverage spans 22 offence types across all 35 English police force areas, Wales, and Northern Ireland. 98% accurate against what actually happened, month on month.
The doctrine is enforced in code, not policy. Dawn works at area level. It does not score individuals, it does not profile, and it does not automate decisions. That is not a disclaimer bolted on the end. It is the architecture, and it is why Dawn survives the legal review that kills the people selling risk scores.
We have an active pilot with The Retail Trust, SEIS/EIS advance assurance granted on a £750k raise, and stakeholder conversations running across forces, councils and safeguarding bodies. Alongside the platform sits the AI for Equity podcast and the book of the same name, published by Emerald in October 2026.
This role is Dawn’s first commercial hire.
Why now
From October 2026, employers must take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their staff. Liability extends to harassment by third parties: customers, clients, contractors. The regulations defining what actually counts as a reasonable step are not due until 2027.
So there is a market of employers on the clock, with no map, and a room full of advisors being asked a question none of them can answer with a document.
Dawn answers two parts of it. The external evidence of the harm environment their people work in. And the training that proves their workforce knows what to do. Not the compliance product. Not legal advice. The evidence and the training that make their reasonable steps real and keep them current, instead of a PDF audit that is stale the day it lands.
That is the wave you are selling into. It has a date on it.
The role
Build a pipeline from cold. Qualify ruthlessly. Get prospects in the room. Close them.
The difference is where you point it. This is not cold-calling HR directors. Employment law firms, PR agencies and public affairs firms already sell into the companies we want, and they already have the trust and the retainers. Your first job is to make Dawn the toolkit that makes their offer stick. They upsell their own clients. We get warm distribution. Everybody eats.
Then, through them and directly, four verticals in order. Retail and hospitality chains with multiple sites first, because third-party harassment is a daily reality there and the procurement clears under ten thousand without a committee. Then health and social care. Then transport and logistics. Then night-time economy operators.
Public sector is the long-term prize and it is not your opening move. Forces, councils and safeguarding boards buy Dawn on a twelve to eighteen month cycle, pulled in by references rather than pushed by outreach. When those conversations mature, you work them. You do not build your first six months on them.
You own outreach end to end, run the CRM, tailor pitches to specific buyers, and represent Dawn at conferences and industry events. Technical demos and scoping conversations involve the founder until you are confident enough to run them solo.
Contractor role, commission, no fixed hours, no fixed location. You decide how you work. You are accountable for outcomes.
What you’re selling
- Evidence report. Fixed fee, low thousands, no procurement. A dated, sourced, board-ready pack showing an employer the harm context around their sites and evidencing the steps they have taken. Your door-opener, and your case-study generator.
- Education Hub seats. Recurring, priced per seat. GBV, bystander intervention, digital harassment and safe reporting training, with CPD certification, completion dashboards and the evidence it actually happened. This is the revenue that compounds.
- Monitoring. Optional add-on. Alerts and early warning keeping the picture live through the year.
- Platform access. For institutional buyers when they come. Longer cycle, larger number, not your first quarter.
What you’ll do
- Open and work a pipeline of employment law firms, PR agencies and public affairs firms as distribution partners.
- Outbound prospecting into the four verticals, in order.
- Qualify prospects against our ideal customer profile and prioritise your time accordingly.
- Schedule, attend, and follow up on meetings and product demonstrations.
- Maintain the CRM with discipline. Every conversation, every prospect, logged within 48 hours.
- Tailor our pitch decks, rate card, ROI calculator, and proposal documents to specific buyers.
- Run commercial negotiations to signature, within pricing parameters set in writing.
- Handle tenders, frameworks, ITTs and RFPs when institutional conversations mature. Not as the motion. As the follow-through.
- Stay involved post-signature for renewal liaison. Higher commission on longer contracts makes that your interest, not just ours.
- Submit a written pipeline report every Monday by 12:00.
- Represent Dawn at trade shows, conferences, and networking events. Expensed events agreed in advance.
- Feed back market intelligence: competitor activity, recurring objections, feature requests.
- Hold the line on Dawn’s positioning. We forecast where harm is building, never who. We evidence reasonable steps, we do not make anyone compliant. Sell either of those wrong and it dies in legal review and takes the relationship with it.
What success looks like
Targets are cleared revenue and signed contracts (Qualifying Sales per your contract), not meetings booked.
- First 30 days. Platform-trained. CRM populated with named target accounts. 30+ qualified prospects in active outreach, and five advisory firms in live conversation.
- 60 days. First evidence report signed. Corporate procurement at this price point clears in weeks, not quarters. Still at zero at 60 days means the pipeline is pointed at the wrong people, and we will say so rather than wait politely.
- 6 months. £50,000 in cleared revenue. At least two distribution partners actively introducing. At least one Education Hub org deal with seats attached. This is the review trigger.
- 12 months. £200,000 in cleared revenue, with at least 40% of it recurring Education Hub seats.
What we offer
- Commission. 20% on contracts of 12 months or less. 25% on contracts longer than 12 months. Earned on cleared payment from client, paid monthly. Uncapped. Full terms in the Sales Associate Agreement.
- Path to salary, with a number on it. After discussed cleared revenue or six months, whichever comes first, we agree a base salary plus reduced commission. The base is funded by the raise, which is the honest reason it is not on the table on day one. That is a date and a number, not a good-faith maybe.
- Equity. Discussed at the same review, on terms written down before you start, rather than after you have done the work and lost your leverage.
- Full remote. Work where you want, when you want, provided you can attend meetings and hit the reporting cadence.
- Direct line to the founder. No middle management. No filtered decisions. If you need pricing flexibility, a product change, or a different message, you ask the person who can give you an answer the same day.
- Mission that holds up. Dawn exists because the institutions and employers meant to keep people safe are working with fragmented information. You will be selling something that matters, to people who care about getting it right.
What this isn’t
- A salaried role with a commission top-up. It is commission only until you trigger the review.
- A public sector gig. Forces and councils are the long game. Your first six months are corporate.
- A scripted role. There is no inherited playbook, no inherited pipeline, and no inherited CRM. You are building all three.
- A compliance sale. We do not make anyone compliant. We evidence their reasonable steps. If you cannot hold that distinction under pressure from a prospect who wants to hear the other thing, this will not work.
- A position where you can overclaim about the product. We sell what Dawn does. Not what it might one day do. Not what AI in general does. Not what the buyer wants to hear if it isn’t true.
How to apply
Apply through the form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeDjobiWQxrqB3R7CQvPZfr6TZWczUHfqHeXCUYPo0nU21HRQ/viewform?usp=header. It asks for one deal you closed that you are proud of, one you lost and why, which of the four verticals you would open first, and which advisory firms you already have relationships with.
No cover letter, no CV. The form is the application.
