Full job description

Job Title: Paediatric Registered Nurse

Trust Location: Blackpool

Pay Rates: £16.53 - £26.45 including holiday pay

Shift Patterns: Earlies, Lates, Long days, Weekends and Bank Holidays

As a Paediatric Nurse, you’re not just taking care of a baby, child or teenager. More than in any other nursing role, you’re nurturing the needs of a family.

The paediatric and neonatal clinical unit consists of three separate areas:

  • Neonatal unit
  • Paediatric ward
  • Paediatric outpatients

The paediatric units provide warm and welcoming environments that will give you the space and facilities to provide exceptional, child-centred care. Our young persons’ room and outdoor play area further enhance opportunities for valuable informal interactions.

· Adapting the way, you care for children compared with adults based on their developmental stage, their age and health condition.

What you’ll be responsible for

· Assessing and monitoring patient conditions

· Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests

· Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations

· Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You’ll need to have the following qualification/experience:

· A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute Paediatric hospital environment within the last 3 years

· Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

· Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines

· Undertake regular mandatory training

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
