What you will do
- Lead the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high-quality nursing care for residents.
- Take responsibility for ensuring residents’ personal and clinical care needs are met, providing direct care where required.

- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous nursing records.
- Lead, support and supervise care staff during shifts, promoting high standards and professional practice.
- Contribute to training, supervision, appraisal and development of care staff.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families and external professionals, ensuring effective communication.
- Escalate and report concerns, incidents or safeguarding issues in line with policy and the NMC Code.
- Participate in quality assurance, audits and service improvement activities.
About you
We are looking for a confident, caring professional who is committed to delivering excellent nursing care.
You will bring:
- Registered Nurse qualification with a current NMC PIN.
- Evidence of ongoing professional and clinical development.
- Experience of supervising, training and supporting care staff.
- Practical knowledge and experience of care planning.
- Good IT skills and confidence using electronic care systems.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a person-centred approach.
- A flexible approach to working shift patterns, including nights and weekends.
- Experience of working with older people is desirable but not essential, as full support and training will be provided.
Why join MHA?
You will be joining an organisation with strong values and a supportive culture, where nursing practice is built on compassion, professionalism and respect. At MHA, nurses are empowered to lead, develop and make a meaningful difference every day.
Rewards and benefits
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, you will enjoy:
- 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) and an option to buy annual leave (pro-rota for part time).
- A strong pension scheme and life assurance
- Support with professional fees in relevant roles
- Free DBS checks and uniforms
- Confidential counselling, chaplaincy support and access to our hardship fund
- Flexible options to buy or sell annual leave, plus family-friendly policies
