On site Internal IT Support Technician (1st Level Support)

As an Internal IT Support Technician (1st Level Support) at Wye Valley Group, you will be the first point of contact for our internal colleagues when they encounter IT issues across our sites in Herefordshire. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support and assistance to resolve IT-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to our daily operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and skill development in a fast-paced on-site environment.

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide first-level technical support to colleagues on-site across our Herefordshire locations.

– Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

– Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications.

– Assist with user account management and password resets.

– Collaborate with second-level support or external vendors for more complex issues.

– Document support interactions and solutions in the ticketing system.

– Assist with IT inventory management; audit, update and maintain schedules and the procurement of upgrade and replacement devices.

– Offer guidance and training to colleagues on IT-related topics.

– Stay up-to-date with technology trends and best practices.

– Manage the Company’s Cyber Essential Plus accreditation

Qualifications:

– Proven experience in a similar on-site role providing IT support.

– Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

– Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and common business applications.

– Basic understanding of network concepts.

– Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

– Committed to delivering exceptional service to our colleagues.

– IT-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.

Driving Licence advantageous.

The role is a full-time position based in Hereford, with occasional travel to our other locations across Herefordshire. A competitive salary is offered, 28 days annual leave (inc. Bank Holidays), life assurance and pension schemes.
