£35,000-40,000 per annum + overtime + company van + fuel card + tools
Permanent | Full-time

Omnis Systems Group Limited is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join our growing team, working predominantly across Sheffield and the surrounding areas on large-scale fire alarm installation projects.

This role is primarily focused on first fix and second fix installation works, so we are looking for someone who takes pride in their installation standards, can work efficiently as part of a project team and is comfortable working on major commercial and construction sites.

Experience commissioning fire alarm systems would be a strong advantage, but it is not essential.

The Role

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • First fixing fire alarm systems, including containment, cable installation and associated installation works
  • Second fixing devices, interfaces, panels and associated equipment
  • Installing systems accurately in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
  • Working on large commercial installation projects throughout Manchester and the surrounding areas
  • Installing and working with systems including Gent and Advanced
  • Testing installed cabling and equipment as required
  • Completing works to a high standard and maintaining good site housekeeping
  • Following RAMS, site procedures and health and safety requirements
  • Completing relevant site and project documentation
  • Working alongside Omnis supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and other trades to deliver projects to programme
  • Testing and commissioning systems where competent and authorised to do so

What We're Looking For

We are looking for engineers who have:

  • Previous experience installing commercial fire alarm systems
  • Strong first fix and second fix ability
  • Experience working on construction sites and larger installation projects
  • Good understanding of fire alarm drawings and installation requirements
  • High standards of workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and a professional attitude on customer sites
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The right to work in the UK

Experience with Gent or Advanced fire alarm systems is particularly desirable.

The ability to commission fire alarm systems would also be a significant advantage and could provide opportunities for further responsibility and progression.

Salary & Package

The package for the role is based on our current Fire & Security Engineer employment package:

  • £35,000 basic salary
  • 40-hour working week, normally Monday to Friday, with site start and finish times varying depending on project requirements
  • Overtime paid at 1.3x the basic hourly rate when authorised
  • Company van, typically a small commercial vehicle such as a Ford Transit Connect, Citroen Berlingo or similar
  • Company fuel card
  • Company-supplied tools, including core Milwaukee M18 equipment and appropriate installation hand tools
  • 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays
  • Workplace pension
  • Company-funded technical, manufacturer, safety and role-related training where applicable
  • Accommodation arranged and paid for by Omnis if working away is ever required
  • Reasonable food/subsistence arrangements when working away
  • Salary and performance review following successful completion of the six-month probationary period
