We understand that medical transport can be overwhelming, which is why we prioritise safety, comfort, and care on every trip.

Hearts First Ambulance are looking for reliable and compassionate individuals with previous experience in Non - Emergency Patient Transport to join our dedicated Ambulance Care Assistance/ PTS team. The position requires the individual to work independently or assisting as part of a crew to provide a safe transport service and maintain high standards of patience and timeliness.

You will be required to drive a variety of vehicles, including cars and ambulances. You will need to be kind, caring and conscientious whilst guaranteeing customer satisfaction at all times.

  • Evening shifts

Compensation:

Hearts First Ambulance offers a competitive salary based on experience and skill set with an opportunity to be part of a rewarding team experience.

Pay: £14.76 including holiday pay.

Required Skills:

  • First Responder Emergency Care - Level 3 Qualification ( FREC 3)
  • A caring attitude towards patients and the ability to show empathy
  • To be flexible, approachable, calm, enthusiastic, honest and have integrity
  • Good all- round communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients, other staff, and management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a professional environment.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to use App based operating systems
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work on your own initiative

Essential Experience/Requirements:

  • First Responder Emergency Care Level 3 Qualification (FREC 3)
  • Manual Handling Qualification within the last 2 years
  • At least 5 years driving experience.
  • Clean, Full, UK Manual Driving Licence with no more than 3 points
  • Good level of English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities:

  • Convey and care for patients on PTS journeys.
  • Use of carry chairs, stair climbers, wheelchairs, stretchers and scoops. (Training Provided)
  • To ensure patients have a safe, smooth journey, complying with all relevant traffic legislation and driving with consideration for other road users.
  • Where relevant ensure that the patient has everything necessary for their journey and return.
  • To ensure that the ambulance vehicle and its equipment and consumable stock is in operational readiness at all times.
  • Ensure that all patients are treated with dignity and respect in communications and actions, in line with Hearts First Ambulance Service policy.
  • Maintain accurate records and documents as required.
