Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their expertise in accounting and tax preparation within a professional environment. The successful candidate will support the preparation of tax returns, assist with financial documentation, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our tax department. A strong foundation in analysis skills is essential, alongside a keen eye for accuracy and compliance.

Duties

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns for individuals and companies
  • Maintain organised documentation of all financial transactions and tax-related correspondence
  • Communication with clients and HMRC
  • Collaborate with senior accountants to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance

Experience

  • Previous experience in tax is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
  • Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all work undertaken
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
