Tiger Bites Pig is looking for a chef to join our kitchen team in Birmingham.

We’re a busy independent restaurant in Birmingham city centre, serving Taiwanese-inspired food with a focus on great ingredients, bold flavours and doing simple things properly.

We’re looking for someone reliable, organised and hardworking who takes pride in both the food they send and the kitchen they work in.

The role

You’ll be involved across the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including:

  • Preparing and cooking dishes to our recipes and specifications
  • Following portion sizes, presentation standards and prep procedures consistently
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation at all times
  • Cleaning as you go and taking responsibility for your section and equipment
  • Completing opening, closing and cleaning procedures properly
  • Following food safety, allergen, HACCP and health & safety procedures
  • Receiving, rotating and storing deliveries correctly
  • Monitoring stock, reducing waste and using ingredients responsibly
  • Working efficiently during busy services
  • Communicating well with the rest of the kitchen and FOH team
  • Helping maintain the standards that our customers expect from Tiger Bites Pig

What we're looking for

Previous professional kitchen experience is preferred, but attitude is just as important.

You should be:

  • Clean, tidy and organised in the way you work
  • Comfortable following recipes and specifications accurately
  • Consistent — the same dish should leave the kitchen the same way every time
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Calm and efficient during busy services
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a small team
  • Willing to listen, learn and take feedback
  • Someone who genuinely takes pride in their workplace

Experience with Asian or Taiwanese food isn't essential — we can teach our food and techniques to the right person.

About Tiger Bites Pig

Tiger Bites Pig is an independent Birmingham restaurant specialising in Taiwanese-inspired food, including our signature bao, rice bowls and small plates.

We’re a small, hands-on team and we're looking for someone who wants to become a reliable part of it.

Job type: Full-time / Part-time
Location: Birmingham City Centre
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
