Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Legal Secretary / Audio Typist to join our busy legal practice. The successful candidate will provide secretarial and administrative support to Solicitors across a range of legal matters, including Residential/Commercial Conveyancing, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Executry Administration.

The role involves audio typing, document preparation, client communication and general administrative duties. Previous legal experience is preferred but not essential, as full training can be provided to candidates with strong secretarial, audio typing and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audio typing and preparation of legal documentation from digital dictation.
  • Assisting Solicitors with conveyancing transactions, including preparation of correspondence, forms and completion documentation including preparation of LBTT returns and submission of Applications.
  • Producing and formatting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Executry papers and related legal documents.
  • Opening and closing client files in accordance with office procedures.
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meetings for Solicitors.
  • Communicating professionally with clients, estate agents, lenders, executors and other third parties.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and telephone calls.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Using Microsoft Word, Outlook and LawWare case management software to create, update and manage legal files.
  • Assisting with document filing, scanning, photocopying and general office administration.
  • Providing support with any other legal or administrative instructions delegated by Solicitors.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
