  • Manage AV projects from initial brief and planning through to installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Plan and coordinate project timelines, installation schedules, resources and key milestones.
  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, interior designers, contractors, electricians and other trades throughout each project.
  • Attend site meetings and surveys, identifying technical requirements and potential installation challenges.
  • Coordinate engineers, installers and subcontractors to ensure works are completed efficiently and to specification.
  • Review project specifications, drawings and system designs ahead of installation.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve potential delays, technical issues or changes in scope.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and communicate progress internally and with clients.
  • Coordinate equipment requirements, deliveries and installation schedules to ensure products are available when required.
  • Install, configure, test and commission residential and commercial AV systems.
  • Set up and integrate televisions, speakers, amplifiers, networking equipment, control systems and associated AV technology.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical and system integration issues.
  • Carry out maintenance, servicing and system upgrades where required.
  • Ensure installations are completed neatly, safely and to a consistently high standard.
  • Provide clients with system demonstrations and guidance following installation.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and aftercare when required.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project and deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Prepare, manage and monitor project budgets and costings, ensuring projects remain commercially viable and within agreed budgets.
  • Track labour, equipment, materials and subcontractor costs throughout each project.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong practical knowledge of AV systems, installation and system integration.
  • Experience managing or coordinating AV, electrical, construction or technology projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating with clients, contractors, designers and other professionals.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and system documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of project scheduling, site coordination and installation planning.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider project and installation team.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional approach when working in clients' homes and commercial environments.
  • Good understanding of networking and connected technology would be advantageous.

Desirable Experience

Experience with AV and control platforms such as:

  • RTI
  • Savant
  • Crestron
  • Control4 or similar control systems
  • Multi-room audio and video distribution
  • Home automation and smart home technology
  • Networking and Wi-Fi systems

Relevant AV, electrical, networking or project management qualifications would also be advantageous, although practical industry experience is equally valued.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be someone who can confidently bridge the gap between project management and hands-on AV installation.

You will be comfortable taking responsibility for a project, communicating with everyone involved and ensuring that the details discussed during the design and planning stages translate into a successful installation on site. You should be proactive, organised and solutions-focused, with the technical knowledge to understand how an AV system should work and the project management skills to make sure it is delivered correctly, on time and to a high standard.
