Full job description

Pennells Garden Centre is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Baker to join our busy restaurant team.

If you have a passion for baking, take pride in producing high-quality homemade goods, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Working Hours

  • Monday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
  • Sunday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Total: 28 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a range of fresh cakes, scones, traybakes, pastries, and other bakery items.
  • Ensure products are consistently presented to a high standard.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients.
  • Keep the bakery area clean, organised, and compliant with food safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the restaurant team to ensure products are available throughout the day.

About You

  • Previous baking experience is preferred, either in a commercial or professional setting.
  • Passionate about producing high-quality baked goods.
  • Able to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
  • Holds a good understanding of food hygiene practices (Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential).
  • Be willing to work in other areas of the restaurant as required.
