Full job description

Bar Team Member – O’Farrell’s, Crawley

O’Farrell’s is Crawley’s cool new Irish sports bar, brought to you by Toast Office Pubs Ltd—the independent pub company behind The Kings Head in Horley.

We absolutely love pubs, so we thought we’d get a few for ourselves.

We’re now looking for reliable, energetic and hands-on Bar Team Members to join the opening team at O’Farrell’s and help establish it as the best place in Crawley for live sport, live music, great Guinness and a proper night out.

Our long-term aim is to have more pubs than that horrible blue-spotted plate place where you have to trek upstairs to use the toilet.

About the Role

You’ll be right in the middle of the action—serving customers, pouring great pints and helping create the lively Irish-bar atmosphere that makes people stay for “just one more.”

With live sport, bands, DJs and busy weekends, no two shifts will be the same—and we like it that way.

About You

We’re looking for someone with big energy who loves hospitality and can bring some personality and buzz to the pub.

  • Previous bar or hospitality experience is ideal, but not essential if you’re the right person
  • Able to set an alarm clock
  • Capable of starting and finishing a task on the same day
  • Good with people—even the ones who don’t make any sense and love the word “Tripadvisor”
  • Able to confidently produce boring small talk for regulars at the end of the bar
  • Not afraid to get stuck in when it’s busy
  • Understands—or is willing to learn—how pubs actually work
  • Comfortable working during busy sporting events, live music and late-night weekends
  • Bonus points if you can pour a decent pint of Guinness
  • Even more bonus points if you know your way around Facebook, Instagram or TikTok

Most importantly, you genuinely like pubs and enjoy being part of a team.

Key ResponsibilitiesService & Operations

  • Serving drinks and food efficiently and with a smile
  • Pouring consistently good-quality pints
  • Keeping the bar clean, stocked and organised
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of each shift
  • Completing opening or closing duties when required

Customer Experience

  • Making sure every customer receives a warm welcome and has a great time
  • Helping create the lively, friendly atmosphere O’Farrell’s is all about
  • Handling basic customer questions and issues
  • Getting involved in live sport, music and special-event days

Teamwork

  • Working closely with the rest of the team across the bar and floor
  • Supporting colleagues during busy periods
  • Taking responsibility and using your initiative
  • Being someone other people actually enjoy working with

Standards & Compliance

  • Following all licensing laws and company procedures
  • Supporting food-hygiene and health-and-safety standards
  • Helping maintain a clean, safe and well-run pub
  • Checking identification and supporting responsible alcohol service

What We Offer

  • The greatest job ever to appear on Indeed
  • Competitive pay
  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Flexible shifts
  • Staff discount on food and drink
  • Fun working public holidays—the perfect excuse to escape family commitments
  • A free half-pint of bitter shandy after every shift
  • A proper team environment in a brand-new, independently run Irish bar
  • The chance to be part of O’Farrell’s from the beginning and help shape what it becomes

To Apply

Please apply with your CV and a short cover note telling us about your experience, availability and why you’d be a great fit for O’Farrell’s.
