Technical Project Manager

Cambridge, UK | On-site | Operations

The Role

Having demonstrated the commercial viability and technology readiness of our LOOP system we are now executing projects with a number of customers. To drive this activity, we require a Technical Project Manager to support the delivery of these projects from customer signature to successful operation of the LOOP.

The Team

Reporting to the Projects Manager and working closely with the other members of the Operations team you’ll join a dynamic and growing business and perform a critical role in delivering our LOOP product to customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects, ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Act as the primary technical interface for clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage engineering integration, technical documentation, and cross-functional activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource requirements, and progress reporting.
  • Coordinate procurement, fabrication, testing (including FAT), commissioning, and project handover.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, industry standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Manage project risks, technical issues, scope changes, and change control to achieve successful project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 5–10+ years' experience managing technical engineering projects within the process, energy, oil & gas, or related industries.
  • Proven delivery of skid-mounted, modular, or engineered package projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing clients, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of engineering integration, fabrication, FAT, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Proficient in project planning, budgeting, risk management, change control, and commercial project delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safe, high-quality project execution.

The following experience would be advantageous:

Previous experience in a Technical Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager, or similar project leadership role.

Strong engineering background with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing technical interfaces.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex engineering projects within a matrix organisation.

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM PMQ, or PMP) – preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and/or membership of a relevant engineering or project management professional body – desirable.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, building effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering projects to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Commercial awareness, including scope, budgets, change control, and risk management.
  • Results-driven, adaptable, and focused on delivering successful project outcomes and continuous improvement.

  • Salary range: £60-75k, depending on experience
  • Bonus: Participate in our Performance Bonus scheme earning up to 20% of salary.
  • Holiday: 25 days per year, plus all UK Bank Holidays.
