At Premier Foods, we’re proud to be making some of Britain’s best-loved brands every day, with our people at the heart of everything we do. We’re now looking for an Engineering Project Manager to play a key role in delivering impactful capital and improvement projects at our Ambrosia Creamery in Lifton, Devon.
The role...
Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead capital, revenue and continuous improvement projects from initial concept through to delivery. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Technical and Commercial teams, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget, while supporting site priorities and our wider business strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing multiple engineering projects from feasibility through to completion
  • Leading project planning, scope, budgets, timelines and risk management
  • Ensuring designs meet food safety, hygiene and statutory compliance standards
  • Managing contractors and suppliers with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Monitoring progress, resolving issues and communicating clearly with stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement, operational KPI delivery and cost-saving initiatives
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a confident and collaborative project professional who can balance pace with rigour.
You’ll need:
  • Proven experience delivering engineering projects in a food manufacturing / FMCG environment
  • Strong end-to-end project management capability, including capital governance
  • Experience managing contractors and third parties safely and effectively
  • Solid engineering and manufacturing knowledge
  • Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
  • A background that includes hands-on engineering experience (apprenticeship desirable)
Why join Premier Foods?
You’ll join a business that’s proud of its heritage but focused firmly on the future. We empower our people to think big, drive change and take ownership, while building inclusive teams where everyone can do their best work.
Alongside a competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum, we also offer a strong benefits package, development opportunities and the chance to work on varied, high-impact projects in a supportive site environment.

We aim to ensure all existing and future colleagues are given equitable opportunities and are respected, valued and encouraged to bring their true authentic selves to work no matter who they are, what they look like, who they love or what they believe in.
