Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to support our Technical team in maintaining a smooth and efficient laboratory environment.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with sample preparation, data entry, and equipment maintenance, ensuring that laboratory operations adhere to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Help support the development of a portfolio of new formulations and products that are cost effective, delivered on time and are compliant to the applicable regulatory and statutory laws and legislation for the country of use.

Help the Technical team with the development process from lab through to scale up and delivery onto the plant - working with other key operational team members from Lab, Process, Purchasing, Production, Engineering, QA, SHE.

Support Chemists by preparing product samples.

Conducting routine and specialized tests under supervision, documenting results accurately.

Maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensuring cleanliness, sterilization, and organization of work areas.

Monitoring and managing inventory of laboratory supplies, ordering materials as needed. Assisting senior Chemists with experiments and technical tasks.

Following all safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Recording and managing data.

Assist with the setup, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment

Record experimental data accurately and maintain detailed records of procedures

Support the organisation and cleanliness of the laboratory workspace.

Communicate effectively with Technical team members regarding ongoing projects

Requirements

  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Educated to HNC / HND level
  • Basic IT skills for data entry and report generation
  • Prior experience or interest in scientific laboratory work is advantageous
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and meticulously
  • Organised with strong attention to detail to ensure precise record keeping
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Must be able to perform tasks safely in a laboratory setting

Pay: Up to £27,000.00 per year
