About The Role
Please note: this is a fixed term contract for 6 months
As a QA Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our aseptic compounding unit. Your primary responsibilities will involve participating in our environmental monitoring program and performing microbiological identification of contaminants.
- Conduct viable and non-viable environmental monitoring using various techniques to ensure a sterile environment.
- Quantify microbiological isolates and perform Gram staining and other identification tests.
- Conduct fertility testing on process simulations to ensure product quality.
- Oversee the temperature monitoring of storage areas.
- Maintain accurate records of QA activities and perform data entry for trending environmental monitoring data.
- Perform routine cleaning and QA documentation checks.
- Participate in training and key task assessments as needed.
- Assist with other projects and tasks as required by the QA Laboratory Manager.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring a strong scientific foundation and hands-on laboratory experience to the role. You will hold GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent qualifications), along with a BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Microbiology. You will have previous experience working in a microbiology laboratory, demonstrating excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to stay focused while working to tight deadlines. Having experience within a GMP regulated environment or aseptic manufacturer is advantageous.
